Our 2nd graders are getting ready to write their first blog posts. They each picked a state they've never been to that they wanted to learn about. They also brought in names and email addresses of friends and family from around the country who volunteered to tell us about their state. I added some friends and family of my own. When it was done we had 64 people who volunteered to help. Students wrote questions, and we emailed them all over the country.
The most popular questions were:
1. What do you do for fun in your state?
2. What kind of food do you eat?
3. What is the weather like?
4. Do you like living there? Why?
They also asked about sports, snow, books, family, how far it was from Nashville, houses, schools, libraries, and playgrounds.
This week they've been reading the answers and picking out what they thought were the most important facts.
My goal is for them to get their blog posts written and edited before spring break.
